Alexandra Barbosa

Alexandra Barbosa was born in Vila do Conde, in 1981.


Graduated in Fine Arts from the ESAD (Caldas da Rainha/Portugal, continues the studies performed in where does the "Master in Graphic Work" at the Fundación C.I.E.C. (Spain), the Master in Artistic Production in U.P.V. and at this time, a PhD in Art: Production and Research at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.


Received the award Extéril Foundation; honorable mention in the National Print Competition - 5th Évora Printmaking Festival - the second consecutive Festival. In Spain, she was awarded the 2nd Prize for engraving at the International Competition "Composer Antonio Gualda" and Accésit the "First International Art Prize Grafico Jesús Núñez".


It was scholarship in the studio "Alfara Studio" (Salamanca), the workshop "Empreinte" (Luxembourg) and Fundación C.I.E.C. (Coruña).


As a guest artist, represented Portugal at the 5th International Belgrade Gatherings 2009 (Servia), the Guanlan International Print Biennial 2009 (China), the Festival Münsterlandfestival part3 2007 (Germany), the International Biennial of Contemporary Art 2006 (Spain) and the XIII Salón Internacional del Grabado y Ediciones de Arte Contemporáneo - Tentaciones - ESTAMPA'05 (Madrid).


He participated in collective exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, Austria, Germany, China, Lithuania, Italy, Serbia, United States of America and Guatemala and individual exhibitions in Portugal and Spain.
