“These photographs are part of my current PhD research project, within the subjects of memory, identity and vernacular photography.
The individual stories present in these images are therefore transformed by the interventions on its surface, generating new poetic meanings."
Ana Teresa Vicente is an artist and a PhD student with a FCT Research Fellowship in Fine Arts (Photography) at the Artistic Studies Research Centre (CIEBA), Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (FBAUL).
She is a member of the Ciberart section of the Artistic Studies Reseach Centre (CIEBA).
She completed her Master Degree in Painting in 2011 with the thesis Body Rondo – The Illusion of Suspended Time, and graduated in Fine Arts – Painting in 2007, at FBAUL. She also attended several courses on the subjects of illustration, image in motion, dance, and photography.
She exhibits regularly since 2005, particularly in the area of photography.
She is currently one of the coordinators of the Post- Screen: International Festival of Art, New Media and Cybercultures (Lisbon).
